How do teachers use ICT in education?
Some common ICT models

What do teachers want to create?
Meaningful, engaging and creative tasks, where it encourages students to use critical thinking and problem solving skills.

1. SAMR

Developed by Dr. Ruben Puentedura, the SAMR model was developed to assist teachers in designing and evaluating the lessons that they integrate technology into.
Common sense media explain the SAMR model here

2. TPACK

TPACK begins with understanding Lee Shulman's work on "pedagogical content knowledge" (1986). Shulman discussed how teachers often separated pedagogy and the content knowledge they had, and that teacher education programs should combine the two areas.
Following on from this and the influx of technology into schools, Mishra & Koehler (2006) expanded on Shulman's framework of thinking to include a technology component. Effective integration of technology must include all three components of knowledge.
Let's look at TPACK explained by Matt Koehler here.
