Quizzes and Surveys

There are plenty of quiz applications you can try. Many of you are already familiar with Kahoot, but there are others like Quizziz or even Socrative which can be paced differently. Did you know you can even create a quiz in Microsoft Forms and Google Forms?
You may wish to even try something like Menti or AnswerGarden.

It is hard to keep up-to-date with everything and to have a good working knowledge of ICT tools. For alternatives, look to critiques on the internet, e.g., CommonSense reviews - from "experts" and fellow teachers

Kahoot

Use Kahoot wisely.  It is easy to overuse and can be too competitive for many students - however it is very motivating for students.

Kahoot has some great guides on how it can be used in different learning areas:  PE class gamified with Kahoot

EDpuzzle

Edpuzzle is an effective way to engage students in a video with interactive videos that allows you to add audio and text notes as well as quizzes to check their understanding of key concepts.

Socrative

Socrative is a formative assessment tool that can be used to engage, assess and personalise teaching and learning. Through creating quizzes and other learning experiences, the teacher has visible access to the class responses in real time.

In places like Kahoot, you can easily search more quizzes. In Socrative, they use a shared google doc to compile quizzes that others have made. You can find it here

Quizziz

Quizziz is another quiz creator which allow for self paced student assessment. Students can play from any web-enabled device and there are many public quizzes to choose from, as well as a quiz editor.

Microsoft and Google Forms

Microsoft Forms and Google Forms are commonly used to create quick and easy surveys, but you may not be aware there was a quiz option.

Log into Microsoft forms or Google forms and try for yourself.

Both Google and Microsoft forms can be accessed by a link or embedded onto a webpage - see below for an example.
