Creating your website

In this unit and a number of others in your degree, you will be asked to make a website. We would suggest you use Wix to do this. If you are experienced in other website creation tools, you may also use those.

When you log in, we suggest you use a gmail account to do this. If you don't have a gmail, you can create one with an email you already have.

Wix

Creating a Wix website is quite easy, you just need to follow the prompts to do so. Please do not choose the online store option templates.

What do we need to create?

  1. Website for your resources in HPE. The upcoming sports will be Cricket, Rugby and Netball.

  2. Website for this unit.

  3. Possibly a website for Assessment 2 (presentations)

  4. A Portfolio for examples of your work over your degree. This is based on the AISTL Standards, this is something that will be discussed later in the week. There are a few options on how to do this.

1. HPE Portfolio in Wix

f you choose Wix, then here are your instructions.
Here is a template of how it should look https://lcmoroney.wixsite.com/hperesources

  • Go to "Manage Pages" at the top.

  • Create the pages as outlined in the picture on the right.

  • Add the subpages to rugby and netball in your own time at home.

  • You need to save and then publish by creating an individual name for your Wix Site.

You can change the images, but they must be copyright free and this is easiest done when you have created all your pages.
We will show you how to find and reference these images later in the sessions, so don't worry about it yet.

For this unit to submit assessment 1 and 3 you will need to create a website. Please create the following folders and subpages as per the images to the left.

Again choose a template that is not an online shop or blog. Delete all existing pages (except home) and start with new blank pages.
